We recently took a stroll around the marina to cast an eye over our fleet of yachts and happened to take a closer look at other resident boats in the marina at the same time, it dawned on us how many of them have been left sad, unkempt, poorly maintained or unloved.

These boats clearly deserve a better life and we realise that boat owners might not be aware of alternative ways to maximise their assets while still being able to enjoy boating as much as they wish. If these boats were put on charter, they would be in a very different state of repair.

Rolex Fastnet Race – 50th Edition

The iconic biennial offshore race celebrated its 50th edition in 2023 and it truly tested both skippers and yachts who navigated blustery 30-40 knots of wind and a tough sea state. The 700nm race is famously named after the Fastnet Rock off Southern Ireland, which the course rounds. Round The Island Race 2023

The Round The Island Race is a world-renowned annual yacht race around the Isle of Wight. It starts and finishes in Cowes, and is organised by the Island Sailing Club. This famous 64-mile lap of the Isle of Wight off the south of England is an excellent test of navigation skills and character!

 

Britain's favourite and much-loved yacht race took place at the beginning of this month July 1, 2023. The Myth of Malham 2023 Offshore Race

It was an exciting weekend of Offshore racing for Hamble Point Yacht Charters with several of the fleet chartered for racing and some of the team also partaking in the event.

The Myth of Malham took place on Saturday 27th May in Cowes and the Solent, with racing typically lasting between 24- 60 hours depending on weather conditions. With a record number of entries this year (being a qualifier for the Fastnet), the race is part of the 2023 RORC Series.
