Reasons we love Autumn Sailing

The temperatures are getting milder but there are still a great proportion of sunny days to enjoy! So here are the reasons we love Autumn sailing:

Ideal conditions
Sailing in the Summer is idyllic but can leave you exposed to the sun, and the humidity can become uncomfortable when trying to sail longer passages or relax with family and friends. With a gentle breeze hiding the intensity of the heat and UV rays beaming down sun stroke becomes a risk. Autumn temperatures are becoming milder but you can still enjoy some beautifully bright sunny days without the heat!

Stunning scenery
Autumn is undeniably one of the most beautiful seasons, with the changing colours of the leaves and the golden and auburn tones emerging, even the most familiar sailing passages take on a whole new appearance. Soak up the incredible autumnal scenery, it is a stunning time of year.

• Quieter waters
Sail whilst the marinas and waters are quieter. The beginning of Autumn usually drives seasonal sailors away, and with children returning to school and the summer holidays finished you can make the most of the quieter surroundings both on the water and ashore. Coastal villages and local eateries are much calmer this time of year.

• The perfect excuse to review your sailing gear
As we move from Summer into Autumn, you may suddenly realise that your sailing wardrobe is missing a few essentials to get you through the milder seasons. This time of year is ideal for seeking out some brilliant outdoor clothing staples to make your next boating trip as comfortable as possible. Even better try ours before you buy! We offer a full loan of wet weather clothing, discover what fits comfortably and works best for you before you commit to buying items yourself.

If you'd like to get on the water whilst the sun is still shining don't forget our late offers, see what's available this weekend, or give our friendly office a call on 023 8045 7110 to check our availability. Or view our optional extras and loan of wet weather clothing here.
