Offshore Sailing Season starts off with podium finish for Boracic Sailing

Recently two of our team members joined the Boracic Sailing Team to take part in an epic offshore sail. Competing in The Exposure OLAS Cowes to Cherbourg race the team finished in a respectable 3rd in class in the Junior Offshore Group and were up against some really strong competition.

Alex. our Office and Reservations Manager joined Steph our Admin Assistant in the first JOG offshore race of the 2023 season in this short sprint across the English Channel. The race proved to be slow and challenging with light winds throughout the channel offering a cold and frustrating start, but with some sail changes, perseverance, and teamwork Boracic pulled through!

Describing their experience the Boracic Sailing team commented:

‘We had a great start and steady breeze down the eastern Solent…met by a frustrating wind hole across the south of the island…but it soon filled in as we headed across the channel ending with a fast and close finish over the line.’

The team was headed by Skipper Callum Mckie who said it was a very enjoyable weekend with a great team to sail with.

Another adventure on the horizon is The Fastnet Campaign where Steph will be joining the team to compete again, Andy our Fleet Technician will also be competing with the Boracic team throughout the 2023 season so keep your eyes peeled for future updates!
