There’s something about a long weekend that just feels full of possibility.
An extra day.
A bit more time.
A chance to actually switch off.
But all too often, it slips by in a blur of plans, traffic, and trying to fit too much in.
What if you did it differently this time?
Long weekends don’t have to mean busy roads, crowded destinations, and rigid schedules.
Out on the water, everything slows down.
You’re not rushing from place to place.
You’re not watching the clock.
You’re simply moving with the conditions, the surroundings, and the moment.
It’s a different pace, and that’s exactly the point.
One of the best things about a sailing weekend is how much you can experience in a short space of time.
From the Solent, you can:
• Drop anchor in a quiet bay for lunch
• Explore new harbours and coastal towns
• Enjoy dinner somewhere you simply can’t reach by road
• Wake up to completely different surroundings each day
It feels like a proper escape… without the need for airports or long travel days.
A long weekend should feel like a break, not just a change of scenery.
Sailing naturally creates that space.
Phones get put down.
Conversations last longer.
Even simple things, like a morning coffee in the cockpit or a quiet sail at sunset, feel more meaningful.
It’s not about doing more.
It’s about enjoying what you’re doing.
If you’ve been considering a charter but aren’t quite sure what to expect, you’re not alone.
The reality is, it’s far more straightforward than most people imagine.
You’ll be talked through everything on board,
helped to plan around the conditions,
and supported before you head out.
After that, it’s your time to enjoy.
Long weekends come around quickly, and disappear just as fast.
So instead of letting this one pass by like any other…
Do something that actually feels different.

Not our first charter with HPYC, but as usual the staff were extremely efficient ,friendly and helpful. Out yacht (Spirit) was clean and well prepared . I recommend them highly.
The boat was very comfortable, and with good basic provisions (tea, coffee, tea towels etc.). Plus they'd made up the bunk for us which was very nice.
It was a great day thank you for providing such a terrific service and the provision of the experienced Tom at such short notice.

Alex many thanks. We had a great charter! Helen
Very well organised, professionally managed, training yacht exceptionally clean and well looked after. The course was challenging and lots of fun.
Boat was amazing, such a fabulous experience. Marina bar was lovely for both drinks and food and a great place to watch the world go by. Local village in walking distance was so quaint and perfect with a number of different pubs in such a short place and everyone was ever so welcoming. Can’t recommend highly enough! Thank you for being so patient in explaining everything and helping make our first experience of using Air BNB so enjoyable.
Excellent service and very well maintained boats Chartered a Southerly 42 from Monday lunchtime to Friday lunchtime and sailed to Yarmouth, Poole, Lymington, Newtown Creek, Bucklers Hard and Cowes. Southern Comfort sails very well and was very comfortable for six grumpy old men. Likely to book again. Hamble Point team very welcoming.
Very efficient and welcoming
