Skippered Charter

Whether you

• wish to celebrate a special occasion on a yacht without the responsibilities of skippering,
• or have insufficient experience to skipper a yacht yourself,
• or wish to experience sailing for the first time,
• or are not able to muster enough sailing friends to crew for you,
• or would like some extra support to try something new, such as a channel crossing,
• or would like to organise a corporate/company event involving sailing

then chartering a yacht with one of our professional skippers provides the perfect solution.

You can charter your choice of yacht from our fleet.  With our wide selection of well maintained and presented privately owned yachts equipped to the highest standards, we offer a unique choice of make and size of yacht.  We will have a discussion with you to determine your aims for the charter and to understand who will make up your crew in order to provide you with a skipper who will be a good match for you, your group and your requirements.

Your skipper will usually phone you prior to the commencement of your charter to ensure that he/she has a proper understanding of your objectives.  The skipper will be happy to act in the capacity that you would like him/her to - from simply overseeing you skippering the yacht, to ensuring that every person on board has an active role to play and explaining the finer points of sailing and navigation to those who are interested, to quietly sailing the yacht for you while you and your crew sit back and enjoy the experience.

If you have not sailed for some time, or if we need to verify your experience before you continue on a bareboat basis, then it is possible to take one of our professional skippers for a half day or more at the start of your charter to build up your confidence before continuing your charter without them. 

Please note that when you take a skipper, you are responsible for providing them with food and drink and, for overnight charters, either a berth on the boat or a B&B room ashore.
